Panopticon & Meal Deal
Location
Bristol
Role
Animator and Prop-maker
During my final year at university I was asked to work on films being produced by members of my cohort and a Masters student.
I was asked by the Masters student Martina Klanova to produce some animations for an animation and virtual reality film called Panopticon. The animations I was asked to create featured various objects as the subjects of the animations, like a ball of wool unravelling and a pair of scissors ballet dancing. I enjoyed being involved with Panopticon as animating the different objects required me to make use of my problem solving skills to bring the objects to life and make the objects perform in the way the director wanted. I also enjoyed being provided with the opportunity to experiment.
Another film I was asked to help on was Niamh McArdle, Anais Kheir and Amy Mulcahy's film titled Meal Deal, whilst working on the film I was asked to help with the fabrication of various sandwich boxes and crisp packets that ended up being featured in the background of several shots of the film. I enjoyed helping out on the film and having the opportunity to develop my fabrication skills and challenging myself.
